Hey reader, how have you been? Welcome to another amazing week, I pray that this week you move at God's pace. Welcome to another episode of POTTERED TO PERFECTION.
MY 20-SOMETHING YEARS
Many definitely know me as an Evangelist daughter, but what many might not be aware of is that I am a farmer's girl. Funny right, yeah. I go with my dad to farm and we even have a large garden in our compound till now.
In my twenty-something years with him, I have watched him plant crops and even planted with him. I have observed the pace at which each plant grows and its life span. For example, if you plant a maize and a yam at the same time, you will definitely harvest the maize before the yam.
But, harvesting the former before the latter doesn't mean the yam isn't doing well or that the maize is superior, it just means that they have a different duration of growth.
CONSISTENCY
Despite the difference in the duration of growth of each plant we sow, we put in efforts over and over again to see them do well; we weed, mulch, and put in all the needed work. We endure the rigorous exercise of nurturing the plant. Some seeds even take longer for it to grow but we don't quite, some die, but we stay. Consistency can be hard; it's a rigorous job, but that's the way.
DON'T QUIT YET
See you can't quite on your mango because someone else’s maize is already yielding. Life does not work that way. If you are sure that what you are doing is the right thing to do then sit with it. Sometimes it might not even work on your fifth attempt but don't quite yet. Put in all the best you can muster over and over again. Like I said above, yours might be a mango seed while those you compare yourself with are nurturing a maize seed.
Nurture your seed; and consistently do it. If you need to learn from mentors, do it. If there is a need to read a book, get one and read it.
Before you drop that business because it isn't booming, wait a little.
Before you stop writing because you don't have a lot of people reading your write up, wait more.
Don't give up yet.
IN CONCLUSION,
You're here to run your race. After your life, God might not ask you why you weren't like the most popular writer but He might ask you why you weren't you; why you did not reach your full potential.
Instead of jumping from one thing to another, sit with one thing, do it over and over again, put in your best, walk with God and make it work.
